I really felt like there was a slimmer, healthier and more confident woman on the inside and I didn’t want many more years to pass and not bring her out and enjoy a better quality of life. My motivation?? Losing my mother to cancer when she was only 39 and I was 17, then my grandfather due to diabetes and being overweight, then my foster father to a heart attack when he was just 54, all within 3 years. When I had my 2 boys in 2005 and 2007 I knew I wanted them to have a healthy and happy mother. Knowing what I’m faced with genetically I wanted to make my body as strong and healthy as possible so that if faced with an illness I am strong to fight! Losing 70 lbs 8 years ago changed my life in every way and lead me to helping others also change their lives. I became a Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor Specialist, Licensed also to teach Zumba and Piloxing and have been successfully teaching in the community for 5 years. I have had the pleasure of helping many lose weight and even gain weight. I enjoy teaching folks how to live a healthy and active lifestyle and how to become stronger both mentally and physically. It’s not just about reshaping/retraining our bodies, but our minds. I am extremely excited for the opportunity that lies ahead with SFL! I believe in building great relationships and working together to find what is going to make YOU successful in reaching your goals in a way that works for your lifestyle. I find it very rewarding to help people find a happier and healthier version of themselves. I personally know how great this feels! With the right food and guidance anyone is able to live a healthy lifestyle and achieve incredible results!

In 2007 after having two kids and keeping my extra weight both times I thought it was time to start exercising. A friend and I started dabbling in running and a bit of free weight strength training then decided to try bootcamp. Bootcamp was where I found a new passion! A place where I found drive, determination and a strength I never knew I had! Along with the supportive environment I found new friendships that will last a lifetime! I was a stay at home Mom who loved to bake so for the first few years I exercised but didn’t change many of my eating habits. Eventually I realized I was having very little success and not reaching my full potential! Once the light came on and I made some changes the weight started coming off! I lost close to 40lbs and have been able to keep it off for 7 years now. I realized mindful eating and feeling good go hand in hand. And that eating healthy does not mean being bored with tasteless food! In 2011 I became a certified Personal Trainer and group exercise instructor. Since then I have added many certifications and trainings including TRX, Schwinn Spin, Older Adult Fitness and YogaFIt. I teach classes at The Rath Eastlink Community Centre as well as teaching conditioning classes at Cobequid Dance Academy. My goal is to help others be their very best self, realize their full potential and to 100% believe in themselves!! I love watching people grow and fall in love with life as they maneuver along their life journey! I look forward to our paths crossing and helping you find the spark that lights up your way to success! “The only impossible journey is the one you never begin”. –Anthony Robbins

I wasn’t the healthiest individual growing up. I was fairly active, but I also ate a lot of junk food and drank way too much pop. Truthfully, I didn’t give much thought to my overall wellbeing or health. My personal journey began after I lost my dad to brain cancer in December of 2012. I was in my early 20’s and this experience really opened my eyes and helped me realize that how we treat our bodies makes a huge difference in our overall happiness and wellbeing. It was only after this experience that I truly connected the dots and came to understand that balance is key to a happy and healthy lifestyle. I’m studying to become a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach through Nutraphoria School of Holistic Nutrition online and I’m so glad I took the leap to further my goals and dreams. I’m an avid reader of health, wellness and personal development books that help further my knowledge in the field. I enjoy cooking simple and delicious meals and I truly want to see everyone succeed - body, mind and soul. I want to empower and motivate people to take back control of their own health. I hope to inspire others to embark on their own health journey. I want to help people feel healthier, stronger, and become more in tune with themselves on a wholesome level. My own journey has taught me that we can feel happy inside and out by exercising, managing stress and eating whole nutritious foods. But it doesn’t stop there. I am very interested in eliminating the chemicals and toxins that we expose our bodies to as well. Again, its all about connecting with ourselves on a much deeper level and finding optimal balance. It’s not always easy doing it alone. Sometimes we need that support and extra push. I want to be that for others.
