Over the course of 11 years, Amy has acquired a vast amount of knowledge surrounding health and nutrition, through her own personal weight-loss journey. This eventually led to her seeking out a career as a Nutrition Coach, with the intention of using her experience to help clients of her own achieve similar goals. After receiving her certification from Precision Nutrition, Amy applied the principles and habits that helped her to successfully maintain her progress, to those she worked with. Her style of coaching is rooted in the belief that making conscious choices in regard to one’s health is not a one-size-fits-all pursuit. The kind of nutrition program that works in both the short-term and the long-term, can be done without having to compromise who you are. The right method won’t ask you to stop being you, it will simply invite a healthier version of you to start pulling the strings.
Having been through the motions herself, Amy provides a range of examples and resources for a variety of individuals who have specific needs; because having flexible solutions available is a must when it comes to helping people with their nutrition. She believes that when making lifestyle changes, the focus should be on finding balance between nourishing your body with nutrient-dense foods, all while avoiding restriction. The sweet spot of sustaining healthy habits is found when you develop a better relationship with food, while enjoying the process along the way. This might mean exploring different cooking methods; trying different tips/tricks to maintain your social life while staying on track; and finding a way to incorporate elements of your favourite foods into your diet on a regular basis. To work alongside clients who truly want to embrace change when it comes to their health and nutrition, is something Amy considers an honour to be able to facilitate.
