I really felt like there was a slimmer, healthier and more confident woman on the inside and I didn’t want many more years to pass and not bring her out and enjoy a better quality of life. My motivation?? Losing my mother to cancer when she was only 39 and I was 17, then my grandfather due to diabetes and being overweight, then my foster father to a heart attack when he was just 54, all within 3 years. When I had my 2 boys in 2005 and 2007 I knew I wanted them to have a healthy and happy mother. Knowing what I’m faced with genetically I wanted to make my body as strong and healthy as possible so that if faced with an illness I am strong to fight, not to mention I also wanted to look and feel better! I lost 70lbs working with a coach and learned how to maintain that. It changed my life in every way and lead me to helping others make lifestyle changes. I became a CanFitPro Certified Personal Trainer, a Certified Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Coach and licensed to teach Zumba and other fitness programs. I have been successfully teaching and coaching in the community since 2010.

I have had the pleasure of helping many lose weight, get fit and feel better. I enjoy teaching folks how to live a healthy and active lifestyle and how to become stronger both mentally and physically. It’s not just about reshaping/retraining our bodies, but our minds. I believe in building great relationships and working together to find what is going to make YOU successful in reaching your goals in a way that works for your lifestyle. I personally know how great this feels! With the right food and guidance anyone is able to live a healthy lifestyle, achieve incredible results and keep them! Lastly I will say how proud I am to have taken over ownership of Simply For Life Truro in 2005. What a dream! If I haven’t met you yet, I can’t wait too

In 2007 after having two kids and keeping my extra weight both times I thought it was time to start exercising. A friend and I started dabbling in running and a bit of free-weight strength training then decided to try bootcamp. Bootcamp was where I found a new passion! A place where I found drive, determination and a strength I never knew I had! Along with the supportive environment, I found new friendships that will last a lifetime! I was a stay-at-home Mom who loved to bake so for the first few years I exercised but didn’t change many of my eating habits. Eventually, I realized I was having very little success and not reaching my full potential! Once the light came on and I made some changes the weight started coming off! I lost close to 40lbs and have been able to keep it off. I realized mindful eating and feeling good go hand in hand. And that eating healthy does not mean being bored with tasteless food! In 2011 I became a certified Personal Trainer and group exercise instructor. Since then I have added many certifications and training including TRX, Schwinn Spin, Older Adult Fitness and YogaFIt. My goal is to help others be their very best self, realize their full potential and to 100% believe in themselves!! I love watching people grow and fall in love with life as they maneuver along their life journey! After being diagnosed with a chronic pain condition in 2016, I was told that my only options were to medicate and learn to live my symptoms. However, I was determined to restore my health and to manage my symptoms with diet and lifestyle changes, so I began a long journey of self transformation. I spent countless hours researching and experimenting on my own life and learning everything I could about root causes and functional nutrition, tracking my progress and troubleshooting my results until finally, eight years after my symptoms began to take over my life, I have reached a place where I am free! Not only have I collected knowledge and empowerment, but I also have two wonderful children that at one point, I didn’t think I would be able to have. Now, I combine what I have learned from my own battle with my professional background in addictions and holistic coaching to provide a well rounded approach to clients who know that their relationship with food starts before they pick up their fork!
